On Saturday March 27 over 2000 college students from the U of M and other schools came to help clean upNorthwest Detroit. We had 16 students assigned to the Hope Park area, which was Fenkell, between Chapel and Bentler. We cleaned in front of the church, and two fields that included old car radiators and gas tanks. The students were GREAT! They pitched right in, and worked very hard. They also brought six
planters and filled them with flowers. We provided food and drink for everyone that worked on our site. I would like to thank all of the students and especially Larry our coordinator for a job well done.I would also like to
thank our Hope Park Association members, Sue, Tijuana, Mitch, Michelle, Sherri, and Christian for all of their hard work.
WDIV (Ch.4) stopped by and filmed our crew hard at work, and we made the 6:00 p.m. news.
