Officials from the Detroit Public Schools submitted their deficit reduction plan to the Michigan State Department of Education. The plan was requested by the State Superintendent of Instruction and will
reduce expenditures of more than $560 million over the next five years.
Throughout the implementation of the plan, DPS will close nearly 30 schools and eliminate more than 4,000 jobs. For more information please
