WORRIED ABOUT ANYTHING IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD?

Maybe safe streets are what matter most to you; you have kids who play nearby or walk to school on those streets, and you want to give them crime and drug-free environment.

Or maybe you have quality-of-life concerns: What changes will downtown and uptown redevelopment bring to our area? What about those potholes and cracked sidewalks?

Perhaps you’d like to see parts of our historic neighborhood spruced up, cleaned up or “greenified.”

Maybe you rely on the newsletter delivered to your door every month, or on the annual Spring Cleanup.

JOIN THE CLUB!
The neighborhood club, that is. Hough Neighborhood Association works to protect the unique advantages
to living in a historic urban neighborhood, solve problems, and make our home a pleasant place to live.

But in order to keep doing so, We need some good people.

Many of the dedicated folks who have been working on these issues and looking out for the well-being of Hough need to move on to other commitments. If no one steps in to fill their shoes, some jobs won’t get done. Think about living next to a major commercial thoroughfare without the protection of a sound wall (imagine living right next to I-5, up close & personal). . . or about not knowing where to go for help when your sidewalks are crumbling. . . or about zoning changes made without your input. Think, also, about the kind of place Hough could be, at it’s best. Wouldn’t you like to have a hand in shaping our future?

Needed: People to work on various working groups or committees; People with ideas about what could, should and isn’t being done yet – and are ready to take charge! We need people for the following committees and issues;

-Newsletter Deliverers
-Tree and Shrub Planting Projects
-Neighborhood Action Plan Update Committee
-Land Use Committee
-Code Enforcement Issues
