City of Houston Acres

I'm curious if anyone else is occasionally hearing what sounds like numerous rounds of gunshots on otherwise peaceful Sunday afternoons (and is as worried about it as we are).  We call the neighborhood police when we hear them, I am hoping others do too.  It is incredibly dangerous for anyone to be shooting in or near our neighborhood, of course.  I cannot imagine what the motive or thought process is for shooting guns near a residential area.  I've lived here 14 years and this is a very recent problem that I'm hoping resolves itself soon.

I hear them all the time.  However, I figured they are coming from the property in the back of the neighborhood.  I know there is 100+ acres back there.  I've seen deer and heard about Coyotes.  Maybe there shooting the Coyotes or shooting at targets.  Never really bothered me.  I don't think they would shoot towards the houses. 

 There is a large farm area next to Houston Acres that has an old quarry on it. Shot are coming from there. You might contact Nick Simon to ask.

Thanks!  I generally am a trusting soul but, one accident on their part, someone bumps someone's arm, a person just isn't at the top of their game on a given day... there's just very little room for error when dealing in guns in populated areas, I would think.  Plus, someone who is willing to break the law by shooting inside the county already loses a few 'trust' points in my mind.  If they want to genuinely live in the country, they should, but heck, their land is surrounded on all sides by.. Louisville.  :-)  Anyway thanks and I'm glad everyone is not as frghtened by it as I am.  I have a 10 year old so I think about his safety playing outside too.
