Hudson's Bay held what we hope will be our first annual neighborhood-wide yard sale on July 19, 2008.
More than 30 households and 2 local retail businesses participated. Twenty-one neighborhood businesses were sponsors (also known as our angels) whose donations paid for all our printing and signage. Countless volunteers made, put out, and took down signs, canvassed neighbors, handed out flyers at the Fourth of July celebration and at the Farmer's Market, made phone calls for the cause, signed people up, and did the many other jobs necessary to make an event like this a success. We all thank everybody involved!
We advertised in several places and on sale days we handed out 500 maps to buyers and browsers from nearby and far away. And those buyers carted away lots of still usable stuff, leaving behind hundreds, maybe even thousands, of dollars. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Below you'll find a few pictures of sellers, buyers, browsers, helpers, and who knows who else.
On 5th St, Anita was hawking some puppy slippers. By the time husband David showed up, they were gone.
Claudia offered some rakish shoes! Di got rid of an Old Crow And Gyle said "Take my vest. Please!"
Meanwhile, over on Z Street, Holly had helpers! And Kristine had hangers.
Trace had happy customers on 8th, and in the alley behind 9th, Kathy took cash from a burlwood-bowl buyer!
