I have received a letter from a neighborhood teenager who asked if we could fence off or put a wall around the new recreation area to prevent people from other nieghborhoods from causing damage and doing bad things in the ditch area?
Unfortunately we do not have the funds to put up any type of fence or wall. I tried to keep this area as private as possible by not advertising it or posting a sign at the street, however; most of the kids/teenagers that are going into this area and causing these problems were brought into this area by our own neighborhood teenagers. These individuals come back later on their own and do not respect our property and don't care if they damage or break it.
As a homeowner in Hunters Brook, you can bring guest, but you are responsible for them and you must be with them when they use the neighborhood facilities. This recreation area is just the first phase and I hope to get more done. We can only do this by keeping it up so we don't have to sink our money into fixing damage caused by others and cleaning it etc, so we can have more stuff like a hike/bmx bike trail and so fourth. We are also going to try to make this into a wildlife area to protect it.
If you see people doing bad things then it is every ones duty to report it to the police or a parent. We can only post more no trespassing signs and have the police issue citations to those who violate this posting. Thanks for the letter of concern.
