The EDHA Board is planning an extreme sweep by Code Compliance in our Neighbor- hood in March.  I don't want this to happen and am prepared to fight it.  If you wish to stop it, contact your board memeber or attend the Board meetings (the second Monday of each month).

El Dorado (and surrounding neighborhoods) was chosen by Councilman John Clamp to receive an "Extreme Target Sweep." I, for one, am in favor of having our streets repaired, our brush collected and all the other city services they are offering. I am not concerned about my personal financial responsibility in making sure my home is not in violation of the city codes, which are, of course, laws. from the city web site: City looking for neighborhoods to sweep The City of San Antonio?’s Housing & Neighborhood Services Department is accepting applications for the Extreme Neighborhood Target Sweep Program to be conducted during the City?’s 2007-2008 Fiscal Year beginning October 1. The deadline to submit applications is Friday, June 29. Housing & Neighborhood Services has completed 213 sweeps since the program?’s inception in 1997. As part of a sweep, a month-long comprehensive bundle of City services will be conducted in one selected neighborhood in each council district and include year-long follow-up services. The Neighborhood Sweep Program was created ten years ago to impact neighborhoods with services from all City departments. The program is an effort to promote long-term problem solving, improve property maintenance, and restore pride in neighborhoods while fostering communication between residents and local government. Services include street and pothole repair, vacant lot cleanup, brush collection, code compliance inspections, graffiti abatement, neighborhood planning assistance and other services conducive to each neighborhood?’s needs. Neighborhood associations, community organizations or residents interested in learning more about the Extreme Neighborhood Target Sweep Program or obtaining an application can call the Housing & Neighborhood Services Department at 207-2820. Applications also are available on the City?’s website at www.sanantonio.gov/nad.
