The trees are being cleared for a new 98-house subdivision being built at the end of Strider Drive on Gene Stegall's property. Shay Baird of Crosland (the agent) said that Squire Homes, a subsidiary of Beazer Homes, is the builder and that the homes will be as nice as or better than our existing homes.

Neighbors concerned about the traffic increase/sidewalks needed

Neighbors are concerned about the increase in traffic, with good reason. Shay Baird (Strider Drive Subdivision's agent) said he will work with us to encourage the City to put sidewalks on both sides of the street there. There is a long waiting list for sidewalks, so this will not be an easy sell. But since we have little elementary-age children walking to school with no sidewalks, and the City is allowing the extra traffic, we feel we have a very good argument for them doing it.
