I have had a lengthy converation with Brandon Ross who is heading up the Salado Creek Greenway project for S.A. Parks and Recreation. We discussed Towne Lake residence having access to the Morningside Boardwalk in the front of our subdivision and behind the homes at 3522,3510,3514 and 3522 Lake Towne Ct.. Mr.Ross asked me to take photos of the area we would like to see  as an entrance to the boardwalk which I submitted to him last week. In my converation he stated that he was sceptical that a connection could be made for two reasons. 1. There are No funds available in the budget (at this time). However on the ballot coming up in November there is a proposal to extend the one half cent sales tax for additional funding for Parks and Recreation and other purposes. 2. He was fairly sure of the location I described where we wanted the connection and it would be expensive because it would have to be handicap accessible and that meant a switch-back ramp down from the back of the fences behind Lake Towne Court to the boardwalk.

He promised he would visit the area with the pictures I sent him and get back with me with a decision. There is NO objection to subdivisions or indiviual homeowners from having access to Salado Creek Greenway. The North S.C.G. has many such gates and trails according to Mr. Ross. And yeterday I walked that section from Voelker House to Heubner and found that is true.

I'll post his answer and or suggestions as soon as he gets back with me.

I think this should go to the board to decide if the home owners themselves want this access or not.

I dont think one person should be speaking on behalf of the entire neighborhood.

Mr. Le Pere did consult with the BOD. Just as long as traffic didn't come through the neighborhood and the HOA was not liable or didn't have to pay anything.

It is a good selling and buying amenity to the neighborhood with the access.

Some residents requested an access to the walkway so they didn't have to go to either end of the walkway.
