ADULT POOL PARTY
SATURDAY
AUGUST 9

Enjoy the music of the Dance Doctors, the great food and the camaraderie of your neighbors at the Adult Pool Party.

You DO NOT need to be a member of the pool to join the fun. Tickets are $20 for an individual and $35 a couple. You can buy them at the pool or by calling Sandee Ferguson at 844-6685

The festivities begin at 7PM.

DON?’T OUR ENTRANCE WALLS LOOK GREAT?

The combination of the Entrance Committee and Mother Nature has resulted in a spectacular display of floral beauty. YOU can be part of the reason why.

2 ideas:
1- Many junior and senior high school students need service hours for school or church. You do not need gardening experience to help water, weed and help with Fall clean-up. YOUR STUDENT CAN WALK TO THE JOB!

2- What combines exercise with fresh air, making our neighborhood better and wonderful company? Helping the Entrance Committee. Get the warm feeling that comes with working with Mothers Nature and Smalldon.

Call Betsy at 847-3845.

WHERE CAN WE HAVE OUR?…
?… BIRTHDAY PARTY
?… FAMILY REUNION
?… FUN ?
The pool is available on a rental basis on weeknights from 7:00 to 10. Come talk to the lifeguards if you are interested.

The pool is also a great place to enjoy a bratwurst or hamburger cooked by our esteemed Pool Director Sandee Ferguson on Friday nights. Bring a dollar for a hotdog, you don?’t have to be a member on Friday. Come start a volleyball game or some fun conversation.

QUARTERLY IHRA
BOARD MEETING

The IHRA board met 7/29/03 at Murnane?’s. The newsletter will attempt to summarize the points of interest and ?“general information?” that you may find informative.

Subjects of a general interest:
1) The recent storms have taken a toll on the trees in the Common Area. The board will be seeking quotes for clean up.
2) The credit union is still available for Indian Hills?’ residents through BMI. Contact Jack Conner if you have an interest.
3) Although October is a long way off, the Nominating Committee is looking for people who wish to run for the elected board positions this year. Elections this year include the positions of President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and Assistant Secretary. New neighbors are especially welcome. An active democracy is a strong democracy.
4) Quotes for numbers on curbs are being sought.
5) The pool appears to be in good financial condition at this point of the season. The daycare, memberships and fund raising are on track for a year in the black.

FINANCIAL INFORMATION

Financials are not available in this issue due to Jane Matson, Treasurer, being on vacation. If you wish to have a copy emailed to you when she returns, please call Tim Murnane 431-9408.

DON?’T FORGET,
IH IS ON THE WEB

How much did that house sell for?
When is the Easter Egg Hunt?
Who can I call on the board?
What is going on in our city?
County/ Police Dept?

Your feedback is appreciated and can be directed to Bob Jacobson, Resident Webmaster.

BLOCKWATCH

Thanks to the 12 residents who responded to the Blockwatch flier in the last SMOKE SIGNALS. To be an optimally functioning unit, we could use more volunteers. Please consider calling Gini Peloquin if you have an interest in keeping our neighborhood safer.

BE WARM AND COOL AT THE SAME TIME

?“support your ?‘hood while looking good?”

The quality of the Indian Hills Tshirts, sweatshirts and golf shirts are excellent. You can purchase these attractive items and support the neighborhood pool at the same time.

Even if you don?’t want to appear that you are ?“bragging?” about being an IH resident, you can keep the plush towels in the guest bathroom. Or better yet, at the pool.

Please reference the descriptions and prices on the insert.
