Farley held its Crime Watch Organiztional meeting 7/15/02....we had a good turnout, but need several more volunteers. A crime watch is NOT a vigilante group. It is agroup of concerned citizens willing to serve as eyes and ears for the Sheriff's dept., to report suspicous criminal activity, serve as a ''report station'' for a neighborhood to keep all reports organized and centrally reported. Emergencies of course should be called to 911 immediately and then reported to our Crime Watch captains and then to the Crime Watch Coordinator.

If you are interested in being a captain, responsible for about 10 houses in your area, we need you! There is NO PATROLLING, only watchful eyes and ears and the willingness to be part of a group of concerned citizens.

This is an excellent idea. We need more of this. The sheriff can't be everywhere at once. It is our right and our duty to watch over our own.
