We are having some problems with our insurance company regarding the siding on our house (which is discontined) due to the hail storm. The insurance company is Allstate, and if any one else is also struggling with them could you tell me if you are having any success and what you did to make them see reasonably. They refuse to do all our siding, and want us to go with a product that is diffrent then the rest of our house. This is sad because I do know of several other homes in our neighborhood with other insurance companies that are replacing all the siding. Thanks

Thanks for using the Web
Good evening, sorry we took so long to respond, but it's a new thing. I sent the information you are needing to the board a week or so ago. Unfortunately I have that information stored on my hard drive at work but will retireve it tomorrow and let you know something. If you wantcontact me @ jbdrew @iupui.edu and I will send it directly to you. If you don't mind me saying so, you pay for the insurance, you are the boss. They will try to intimidate you but you are still the boss and should act like it, don't take their stuff. I will be back to you or contact me, and again, thanks for using the web, JBD By JBD |

Siding Information
OK, here is your information. The siding is Mastic Brentwood Double 4 1/2 Dutch Lap and can be purchased right down the road at Modern Building Supply on Lafayette Road. My siding guy did the research and came up with a great match and this information, sounds like your guys just don't want to do the leg work. Might want to look into a new insurance carrier, have a great day, JBD By JBD |

thanks
Thanks for the information. However, I really don't know what to do with it. We are working with a highly recommended and reliable contractor that has done alot of leg work on our behalf. And they are not willing to put a product on our home that is not the same as what is currently on it. And, quite frankly neither are we. My problem is not finding a siding close in match. My problem is with Allstate. Like I said thanks for the information, but my contractor has done alot, it is the insurance company that has not. |
