Have you noticed signs in your neighborhood called, ''Operation My Town Block''? I did, and I didn't know what they ment. After asking alot of questions I found some one who knew the answer. Kathy at INRC knew, and she explained to me it is a program of, Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Inc. I called their office at 317-264-7555 and spoke to Keyla and she explained the program to me. They can provided dumpsters and flats of flowers to keep Neighborhoods liter free and clean. You also get an official Indianpolis Sign indicating your block is apart of the program. Biltmore Gardens already has one block in the program. Lets try to get more blocks envolved and together we can make Indianapolis a beautiful city one neighborhood at a time.

Operation My Town
Robert, Yes, OMT was announced at GGCCA's meeting when the program was first organized. In fact, I'm almost certain that it was the first meeting you attended at the church. However, I've not had one single inquiry about it, despite carrying around the sign up forms for the last couple of years. I'm sorry you had to go outside the neighborhood to find the answer to what the program is. You, at least, took the initiative to find out and then to share the info on the neighborhood website in this forum. Let's hope that between us we can get some dialogues going to discuss options and opportunities that are available, but untapped, for our residents and businesses. Don't ever hesitate to ask us about the things that you are curious about. If we don't know the answer, we'll refer you to someone who will. |
