Firecracking Angry

Posted in: Murphys Landing
Why doesn't our law enforcement (fire, police and sheriff) enforce the use of illegal fireworks in Indiana? This evening about 9:30pm my house, my driveway and my vehicles were hit by the remnants and hot flash of sparks from someone setting off the illegal fireworks. Also, on July 4th in the evening, our neighbors down the street were setting them off (the illegal kind of course) in the street!! I attended a meeting where our local law enforcement stated (a deputy chief of police) they would do something about kids setting off firecrackers in the street. Also, in the Indpls Star, an article stated that that basically any fireworks that ''leave the ground'' are illegal. But... we get the illegal fireworks with the explosions in our neighborhood and nobody wants to enforce the laws. Traffic had to stop to let the drunks set off the fireworks in ''their street''. I don't understand where the people, like Celebration Fireworks, who sell the illegal fireworks have their customers sign an ''agreement not to set them off in Indiana'' because they are knowingly illegal and to be used ''out-of-state'' for the probability they won't set them off here in Indiana. They know darn well that as soon as they sell them, that's what their customers intend to do. (That's like selling alcohol and cigarettes to a 14 year old and having him ''promise not to use them in Indiana'' if he signs an agreement not to use them...yeah right.)The potential for damage and injury was great. I will have to inspect our roof and siding to our home during the daylight hours. I will also have to take a closer look at our vehicles. Had I been standing right behind our vehicles, I would have been burned. I don't want to sound like I'm not for celebration of this holiday but this has gone too far. There is a proper place to set off the fireworks and to be done by a professional and your residential property is not one of those places. We need to do something please. Any suggestions?
Call for help

Don't try and call Ken... he want do a darn thing. Look at the lack of effort from him regarding other problems. I understand the problem and I think the board need to send out Letters/Cards reminding howmeowners of their summer responsiblities (Boats, Parties, trailors,). You might want to buy new property over off Waivery Road(across 37) new housing development on the golf course. Homes over $300k and different homeowners Assoc.
