in the summer of '06, i received a certified letter from the HOA board. admittedly, i was curious. upon opening the letter, i was shocked to discover that i was being contacted about several incidents of unsupervised minors engaging in less-than-civil behavior. some items listed were vandalism, after-hour trespassing and even a death threat from the pool phone to the president of the board! needless to say, the tone of this letter was pretty harsh, promising police action, prosecution and suspension of privilages. but--i HAVE no kids, and usually keep to myself when i'm using the pool. the reason i was confronted was because MY pool code was used to gain entry prior to each of these incidents! however, on one of the dates, i was in florida. the board and i later learned that some teenagers, some of whom DON'T EVEN LIVE in the persimmon communities, somehow obtained my code. i diligently kept mine private, but may have left my confirmation letter visible in my vehicle or was watched by someone as i punched in my number. trust me, keep your code a secret because i almost had the cops beating my door down!
