Does anybody read the local zoning ordinances? If not, you should, as you are still responsible for knowing what is lawful regarding what is permitted on your property. Does any of the board members pay attention to the local zoning laws? Did you know that fences higher than 42'' (3 & 1/2 feet)are not permitted to be located in FRONT of your house? AND if you are on a corner lot you can't have any fence in the building setback line if it is encroaching into the clear-sight triangle? These fences include chain-linked fences. Please board members drive around and taken note of this. There are a couple of these in the Waterfield section of Shannon Lakes. Also, commercial vehicles are not allowed to be parked ANYWHERE in any Dwelling District in Marion county? How come I see commercial vehicles in driveways? (Vans & trucks with landscaping/lawn equipment) Also, there is an inoperable vehicle or abandoned vehicle that has not moved in 6 months? There is a commercial white van backed up into the driveway? Also, there are to be NO Trailers of ANY size in our neighborhood. How come there is one in the back yard at the end of a cul-de-sac (Stop 11 Rd) with a bunch of junk in the back yard also. The covenants and commitments were written for this very reason. If you want to protect your property values, pay attention and comply. My association dues pay for the enforcement of these covenants. Since this is a Planned Unit Development (D-P) district. (Read the Municipal codes of Marion County on the city's website at www.Indygov.org and your covenants. You will find the city can enforce these also and impose fines, if nobody in the neighborhood will do anything about it. Also, before any improvments involving any common area of the development, it has to be approved by the Current Planning Administrator and approved my the Metropolitan Board of Zoning Appeals. (So that means no new clubhouse.)What is the board going to do with the fence that is in the front yard running the length and around the corner of the property on both streets in the Waterfield Section? The owners need to be notified that it is a local zoning ordinance violation.
