I would love to find out how everyone feels about a Community clean up day. The rough idea in my head is a 8:00 a.m. start on a Saturday morning. At least one city truck would drive around from street to street in the community rounding up trash. Hopefully we could get the city to provide trash bags, gloves, brooms, and dust pans. If we could get several neighbors from each street to participate, along with local senior high school students fulfilling volunteer hours, and maybe a few city labour workers we could make the Irvington Community more attractive to the eye. We would need to plan this out several weeks in advance to have a great turn out. We could really address the alleys, and vacant properties.
Please if anyone has and ideas on how to make this happen or make this an easier task please post a response to this topic. All ideas are welcome no matter how big or small the idea. I more attractive Irvington will be good for all of us.
