Welcome to October! The weather, thank goodness, is already cooling off. Rehearsals in the yard are pretty comfortable but for the bug bites which are annoying the hell out of pretty much everyone.
But the show! Rehearsals are clipping along at a neat pace; the costumes and set are beautifully done, the actors are in top shape. A few well-placed round table discussions have given the cast angles to play with that none of us, especially me, had thought of before. This is going to be one of our best!
All the news is good at the moment. For those of you remaining who might not know, myself (Tom) became engaged to Lisa Arnseth on Sept. 14 in Sedona. We are both very excited about it! Lisa and I met in 1999 while IWII was producing Romeo and Juliet and have been together ever since.
Moving on to more goodness...
IWII became one of the Best Of Phoenix in the New Times earlier in the week! We are all extremely pleased by this unexpected honor; I don't believe anyone ever expected it. So it was a great and welcome surprise. THANK YOU to all of you who must have voted for us!
Now, what's this "mum's the word" I read in the newspaper? No one is talking about Macbeth? Huh?! Sort of. There aren't any really big secrets, just surprises and twists. Ultimately, as we have been trying to tell people, this is not a traditional rendering of Macbeth, nor is it simply "modernized." There isn't even a "gimmick" so to speak; just a new way of looking at the old story. This is a show for friends and lovers, and/or those who enjoy dark films and stories such as Dracula, Braveheart, or The Crow. One answer: No, There Are No Kilts.
In any event, this isn't one you can miss!
Thanks for stopping by! Updates to our new website coming soon!
