The Charm's Wound Up

Hello and happy upcoming holidays!

MACBETH has wound up, and what a journey it was. The cast was a tight group, a true ensemble that formed many friendships and showcased stellar talent. The show, as you may know, was extended for an extra week, which ended with a sold out closing night, and a fantastic performance by the entire cast! Endless thanks to the cast, crew and patrons who put the show together and enjoyed it.

Next up: SOMEWHERE IN BETWEEN, a quirky and charming comedy that actors, as I understand it, are already buzzing about. The show will open on March 14, 2003, and is directed by LISA ARNSETH, IWII's very own Zoni-nominated Director (for AMATEURS in 2001, both for best production and best director). This is another off-the-beaten-path shows that IWII appears to excel with, so we hope to see you at either the auditions or performances!

Finally, on both a good and bad note, with the closing of Macbeth IWII bade farewell to our original rehearsal location: the backyard of its artistic director. Since 1995 IWII casts and crews have sweated and shivered, covered in bug bites and dust, to bring our particular vision to Valley stages. The yard -- and house -- was a workhorse in its own right, taking the best care of its workers as it could. Now the time has come to move onward and upward, so it there we charge headlong into the new calendar year!

Wherever our business fate should take us, whether we grow into a 500 seat auditorium or a 60 seat blackbox, IWII promises to keep alive that community feeling of Playing In The Yard. It's what got us here in the first place, after all.
