there oviously was alot of damage to our community due to the recent hurricane, i am proposing to the board that we start with replacing the chain link fence with a concret one, if anyone has any suggestions of any companies that do concret walls it would be greatly appreciated. I do know that there is different kinds of concret walls, a development my friend has a house being built, the wall is concret but it is much thiner than the one at coco plum, and i would assume is lest costly. so hopefully we can brain storm and make suggestions to the board on how we can make this a better community and move forward

I agree but . . .

I agree that a concrete wall would look much better but the problem is COST. I can say that it would probally cost about 800 dollars per house to put in, even going the cheapiest route. You WILL NEVER GET 80% of our community to pay that to put in a wall. It could very well be much more than that. Then there is the cost to paint and maintain. I know that the chainlink fence failed last year and this year even worse but thank god we have it insured this year. Our special assessment should be small. We are a small community and not alot of us can afford an assessment of that size just for a wall. Let's first fix our playground which has been a true hazard for 2 years for our children. Someone eventually is going to hurt, they take off the slide and swings all the time. I thought there was people looking into that. Have heard nothing.

I do Agree with you but I just will not pay that much for a wall. Because then we eventually would have to finish the entire wall and again we would pay alot. Plus the cost to remove all of the hedges that are there and the fence that is there.

Maybe this is something the board can plan for and up our monthly dues a couple of dollars to maybe plan to due in a few years. Just a suggestion and my thoughts.

there is options

there is a fence that is concret but is is much less costly then the ones that are a solid wall of cinder blocks. it is much less labor intensive and maybe a 1/3 of the cost of a traditional cinder block wall. let know if u can think of some other options ( the more the better )
