In a reply to Shane someone mentioned controlling access to the park and someone else mentioned that picnic tables would be a great place for a birthday party. That brought to mind the question -

WHAT IF THERE WERE MORE PARTIES THAN TABLES? What if you aren't invited to either of them?

While parties are a great use for a community park, we would need to have some controls in place because parties bring issues - Extra debris, limited tables and space, others wanting to use park, etc.

At a minimum we could post a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED (FCFS) sheet on this site so that people could sign up for the date and time they would need. Then we would go on the honor system regarding clean up.

If we want more than that then we have the sign up administered by someone who would collect a refundable deposit to cover any damage or extra cleanup costs.

Whichever way we go, I'm just glad to see us finally getting to the point of discussing our park. My boys can't wait to have someplace to ride their bikes to other than a friend's house.
