Neighborhood Housing Services of Jamaica is happy to welcome Ms. Stephanie Bosco to the staff as a community organizer. Her role will be to educate local residents about the dangers of predatory lending, and to speak at community meetings about the diverse services offered by NHS. Ms. Bosco previously served as the community outreach liaison for the 24th Council District in Queens and has worked for the Hempstead Town Board and Nassau County Legislature.

What Can NHS Do For You?

NHS of Jamaica has a full-time staff of five, headed by neighborhood office director Cathy Mickens. NHS is a citywide non-profit organization that offers below market rate home improvement loans, home ownership education and counseling, and direct access to affordable products for refinancing and purchase. Mortgages are obtained through the New York mortgage coalition, a consortium of banks that works with NHS to provide homebuyers with responsible borrowing options. The Jamaica office also offers home improvement skills trainings and classes. NHS has neighborhood offices in all five boroughs.
