Following the Agenda, Mike Link the President of KANDO, began the meeting at 6:10pm with welcoming everyone
Following the Agenda under Neighborhood and Concerns the following was brought up and discussed:
The problem with the graffiti in the 61st and Thurston area appears to have been abated. Everyone was reminded to call in immediately any graffiti they see.
An update on truancy, which had been discussed at the October meeting, was discussed and a reminder to call the non emergency number if they see kids roaming the neighborhood. It was noted that this hasn’t been a big issue.
The question was asked if there was any drug activity that needed to be addressed and it was noticed that open air drug activity appears to be abated.
The landlords spoke of having full units and things in the neighborhood are going well.
It was mentioned that tenants are giving positive feedback on the neighborhood and they too are happy with the better quality of life.
There was some discussion on the perception of the neighborhood and how it has changed, for the better, over the course of the past couple years and that this is bringing in a better tenant.
Everyone agreed that the neighborhood is quieter and that they have heard this from other neighbors and tenants.
There was a short discussion on issues associated with Dino’s.
There was a discussion, by landlords, about putting up cameras at their properties.
The group discussed having the December meeting and it was agreed that we would meet on the scheduled date, Tuesday December 8th at 6:00pm at the ALCAN Building.
