Cleaning Up Our Neighborhood

This summer the KANDO members are working together to go beyond their properties and cleaning up the neighborhood. If they notice garbage that is across the street, or to either side of their property, they will pick it up. In addition to that they will approach the ice-cream truck vendors and request that they carry a garbage bag and ask the kids to dispose of the wrappers in the trash in lieu of just throwing them on the ground! We also have some landlords that are hiring some of the children of their tenants to pick up the garbage on a daily basis. Thus, giving a child a sense of responsibility, ownership and a paycheck! KANDO members are always working towards a cleaner neighborhood.
