Casa Mia Signs

Posted in: Casa Mia
I have not had much luck, to date, with the bordering signs for Baseline Rd. I was told by FastSigns Co. that we are not able to place any signage diagonally across that stretch, as the city will ''eventually be placing a sidewalk and/or widening the lanes on that street.'' i'm not sure if I believe them or not, so I've taken off to the city myself to get some information. The main issue is that the signs would just have to be placed on the concrete fences of the two corner neighbors. I don't think that will look so great, nor will it establish the feel of a true subdivision like we are going for. ALSO, HE SUGGESTED THAT WE GET THE CORNER NEIGHBOR TO INSTALL A MATCHING CONCRETE FENCE. Just how do we do that. Looking for suggestions as to how to proceed. I will find out more about the city's true plans for that strip, as Susan from the District would have known if we could not proceed. Any info. from you guys is welcome.
Casa Mia Signs

Michelle, I think we probably need to bring this up at the Nov 2 meeting and see if we can get a small 'core team' of people who are interested in working on this.

We need to get Susan to have someone from the City Planning office to meet with us (not at the open neighborhood meeting) and discuss in detail what the code requirements are, what, if any, plans there are for widening the street, etc.

Also, we need to find out exactly how much of the property belongs to the neighborhood and how much of it is City right-of-way.
Curbs/signs

Hi Michelle! It's Tyler's mom. The city has told Ed and I since 1993 that they will be putting in sidewalks and curbs in our neighborhood and surrounding street-Baseline. As you can tell it's 13 years later and we still have no sidewalks. Let me know what you find out at the city; maybe new people inquiring to this will have better luck than we did.
core team

Don and Michelle,
I would be happy to volunteer to be part of the ''core team'' put me in coach I'm ready to play!!
