I was reading the minutes from previous neighborhood meetings and noticed that there has been some discussion regarding speeding on our streets. I am wondering if anything ever came of this? It seems to me that we still have people speeding through the neighborhood and even when children are present. I find this very concerning and really do not want to wait until a tragedy occurs to get the issue addressed. It seems to me that we get a lot of traffic that ''cuts through'' to H from Nazareth and vice versa. I don't really mind it if people are doing 25 mph or less but I see people hitting 35 mph coming through there.

Speeding
Unfortunately there has not been much follow-up in regards to this issue. I did pursue the issue with the Township and basically hit a dead end. They said that because there is not a history of accidents they can't justify putting stop signs in to break up the traffic. So in essence, someone has to get hurt before they can fix what we know to be a problem. I did investigate a potential deterrent but it would mean a cost to the neighborhood and I was told at the last meeting a year ago that right now we should look at other means. The cost of this would be minimal now that the majority of the subdivision is complete. Maybe what we need to do is plan another neighborhood meeting to get back on track. Also, please feel free to call the police with license numbers of people who are speeding. They will follow-up with the person who is speeding and warn them. |
