KHNA Adopt-A-Highway UPDATE!

The efforts of our members on cleaning up the section of Rte 215 from University to Palm?Kendall northbound has been very successfull. We have worked on eight Saturdays and removed the equivilant of 106 pickup truck loads of trash. We have completed two full rounds of the section and several repeats of the heaviest area. We have also taken upon ourselves at our president's suggestion to clean all from University Parkway north. This area is not in our adopted location but because it detracts so much from our neighborhood we all agreed to include it in our cleanup. The following neighbors have given their time in this effort; Chas Kelley, Brian and Tracy Prestin, Amanda Jacobs, Jack and Carolyn Dales, Mike and Katie Horn, Prie and Shnnon Riar, Diana Olander, Miriam Figueroa, Sherida and Larry Heasley and Paula Custer from Hudson Park Neighborhood Association. Some have made all the dates and should be applauded for their dedication. If we continue to have a large group of volunteers available it makes it less of a hardship on all. We need help from the rest of our neighbors in keeping our area clean. Only restrictions that we have is that you have to be 18 years old and willing to help. We do our cleanup on the 4th Saturday of each month. When we go out on the highway we are averaging 2.5 hours then we're done. Not much time to give is it? We meet at 7:00 AM in the parking lot south of Ralph's behind the DelTaco. As safety coordinator for our effort I have to remind you that if you haven't been to the safety orientation you can't join us until completed.
