We need input from all of our neighbors because the decisions that are ultimately made should be the result of vigorous yet civil debate. Everyone should feel that he or she is contributing to the growth and strength of this HOA. None of us can continue to miss meetings. We are all busy, but we need to be heard, to be counted. It therefore behooves us to get involved for the health of the community at large.
Each and every member of the KTHOA has made a significant financial investment to be here. The only way we can maximize the return on this investment is by taking the necessary steps: Working together as a unit; Protecting ourselves and neighbors; Investing the energy and commitment necessary to keep the neighborhood viable, upscale and safe. When we distance ourselves from the organization, we are failing ourselves and others. A financial investment will not yield fruit without the concomitant commitment of time, planning, and involvement. We have to work together because we have chosen to live in contiguity by occupying these attached units. It means that if that our neighbor has a fire, we can be burned out. If our neighbor is insecure, we are at risk. If our neighbor is injured, we are vulnerable. We have to accept the responsibility of this nearness by forgetting our petty differences and focusing on the things we have in common; we have to focus on the big picture. If we want to keep up our property values up, we need to form a strong association and to become involved in everything that is going on in our community. I am sure that if we work together, 2009 will be a very good year.
