BUSALD, JOHN W. 'BILL', 72, of Balch St., Pawtucket, died Tuesday, February 4, 2008 at his daughter's home in Pawtucket.

Mr. Busald was born in Pawtucket, the son of the late John A. and Mary D. (Whipple) Busald. He studied Chemistry at the Rhode Island School of Design, worked in the textile industry both as a salesman and then owner of B&B Quality Dye Works. Before he retired he worked at Scholler Chemical Co.

Mr. Busald served in the Rhode Island National Guard and was honorably discharged in 1960. He was a member of the Pawtucket School Committee for twelve years, serving as Chairman twice. He was a coach for the Darlington Little League, a fundraiser for the Pawtucket Day Nursery Association, a longtime member of the Delaney Council, Knights of Columbus where he served as the Grand Knight, and a member of the Rhode Island Section of American Association of Textile Colorists and Chemists.

He helped the PONTE Center, a Portuguese group, which organizes programs for young people, and was a member of the Pawtucket Fireworks Committee.

He leaves three daughters, Catherine Busald of Houston Texas, Margaret 'Marge' Cardozo of Westport,Massachusetts, Helen J. Connors of Pawtucket, one son Paul W. Busald of Arizona, five grandchildren, four sisters, Eloise Agin, Marsha Busald, Candice Lee Busald, Roxanne Lambert, a brother Donald Busald and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral for Mr. Busald will be Saturday February 9, at 9:00 a.m. from the MANNING-HEFFERN FUNERAL HOME, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Teresa's Church, Newport Avenue at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Mt. St. Mary's Cemetery, Pawtucket. The calling hours will be Friday 4-7 p.m. in the funeral home.

Sorry about Bill

Dear friends,

Bill Busald did what he had to do on the School Committee-keep the budget balanced and maintain group peace. However, he was a single father to four good kids, even more remarkable in this day and age.
Yes, Bill was a winner

He worked hard and listened well and had a hand out to help in spirit and more.
