Anyone know where I can take yard waste to recycle. I don't think the government center on Outer Loop does it. I have a lot of weeds along the fence since I live next to a drainage ditch. I can't seem to get rid of them, so I am constantly cutting them. They are too thick for the mower to cut. And, my neighbor has a huge pine tree that hangs in my yard that I'm constantly cutting - I have a huge pile of sticks in my yard from it. Suggestions????

YARD WASTE IN SUBURBAN AREAS

Currently, residential yard waste collection within the suburban areas (outside the former City of Louisville) is the responsibility of the individual residents/property owners and is contracted through private waste haulers. These entities are listed in the Yellow Pages under ?“Garbage & Rubbish Removal.?” Your private waste hauler can provide you with a collection schedule and guidelines for pickup.

Personally, I think this is a services area that warrants further discussion.

Call 311 - VERY helpful!

Please call 311 (Metro Call). The staff there WILL get MSD or whoever owns the ''weedy'' area to keep it cut. Just call then - get a case number and call back regularly to check on it. You can also ask them about the situation with neighbor?’s tree and ask about recylcing. They SOLVE problems and are VERY helpful!

Alos, check yellow pages. Many garbage companies & haulers serve our area.

And thank God you and I live outside the ''old City Limits'', where we have the freedom to choose our sanitation service provider.
