Rachel Buckmaster
Rachel comes to city government from the Indiana Department of Environmental Management, where she most recently served as the assistant director of the Office of Community Relations. In this position, she served as the agency's liaison to Indiana's mayors, community leaders and environmental groups.
Rachel also has played an integral role in the planning of the Governor's Conferences on the Environment, the White River Citizens' Advisory Council and Earth Week activities.
"We are very excited to have Rachel as a part of our team of township administrators," said DMD Director Maury Plambeck. "She has proven experience in working with city agencies, neighborhood groups and other community-based stakeholders, which will not only benefit Washington Township residents but will allow the city to continue to make neighborhood services more streamlined, efficient and effective."
Rachel is a cum laude graduate of Ball State University (BSU) with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and minors in African-American Studies, History, Natural Resources and Women's Studies. She has been actively involved in the Women's Studies program at BSU and was a featured speaker during the 2002 Women's Week.
