his is my first article as Lady President.

The installation of officers was a beautiful ceremony and the dinner was great. Unfortunately is was not well attended.
A special thanks to the following for their assistance in making the installation of officers a night to remember;
Joan Hudson, Fred Cloutier, Roger Miller, Pam Portier, John Frey, Keith Crull, Shayla Bratcher, Jim Stanley, Mary Hensel, and Tom Comstock.

While I have not been a member for as long a time as most, I think of what could be or what was.

This lodge was built by people who had a commitment. And, what a beautiful outcome. By most standards we have a beautiful lodge, and still we struggle. Why? Where is everyone? Is this lodge going to fade into the sunset or can it be brought back? It's not just enough for you to pay your dues. We need you here-participating.

April 2 was "forgiveness day". That day was about letting go of anger and upsets over things that have happened in the past. Let bygones be bygones. This Lodge serves a greater purpose than just individual personalities. Carrying bitter memories or anger is very draining thing, it cuts into you happiness in life.

I truly believe that when you are a member of an organization there is an unspoken demand for some level of participation or givingness. That giving of oneself is empowering! Holding back, sitting at home, complaining and anger at others takes away from the deep sense of well-being and satisfaction.

In order to move forward you participation is needed and wanted. Tell us what you want--Participate at any level--but participate. We will do our best to engage you in the work of--sustaining our lodge and living up to the commitments that the Elks embrace.
