A MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT OF THE LOE - Linda Peterson

Our first event, the Seafood Dinner, was a huge success serving 87 dinners -- this is a fabulous way to start our new year. The goal this year is to have at least 100 or more members attend our different functions. So -- we are going to be looking for you all to come on down!! Our ladies executive board net with the Elks Officers twice. They attended our meeting and we attended their meeting. Both the ER and myself have committed ourselves to moving the Lodge forward in new directions. To that end, we cannot accomplish that without YOU! Yes, your presence does make a difference to all.

Congratulations to the two new members that we enrolled this month. They are Betty Earley and Gerri Menuey. WELCOME!!!! We have two functions coming up in June. On Saturday, June 16th, we will be having a Father's Day, Flag Day & Founding Father's Celebration all rolled into one with a wonderful lunch that we have planned. We will be raffling off a beautiful Red Flyer Wagon. The lunch will be held from 11 am to 3 pm. O f course, all father's will be eating free. Please come and join us. Or even better, find out how you can participate on that day.

Finally, we will have a Roaring 20's Casino Day on Saturday, June 23rd from 2 to 6 pm. There will be black jack tables plus a crap table. When you have won lots of funny money from our very friendly dealers -- we will have an auction so that you can buy lots of cool things for yourself and your family and whoever else you can think of. Everyone who attended last year had a blast. Put this dat on you calendar and get some Roaring 20's outfits out. You may bring guest so put them on your list too.

Our phone team is getting off to a good start. These wonderful ladies have agreed to cal ELKS to remind everyone to our up and coming functions. There were a few little glitches but we'll get everything ironed out. Many thanks to these wonderful members. They are Ginny Wetzel, Betty Ellis, Ruthie Clark, Joan Hudson, Julia Paquette, Carol Weir, Shayla Bratcher, and Kay Woodling. (three of the ladies are Elks) which makes this one of our joint projects.

Happy June Birthday to the following members: Phyllis Miller June 2, Dot Tyson June 2, Amy Brittlingham June 6, Julia Saul June 6, Betty Ellis June 18, Kay Woodling. June 18, Rita Blankenhorn June 25, Delores Kenst June 27

In closing, I do hope you will support our events and come to meetings where you have a voice in what goes on in our LOE group. If there is something you want to bring to our attention -- whatever it is -- please do not hesitate to speak to me or any of my fellow officers.

I HOPE TO SEE YOU AT THE NEXT LOE MEETING ON JUNE 20, 2001, at 7:30 p.m
