The Lexington Road Preservation Area spends a great deal of time assuring that the atmosphere of our neighborhood is preserved. That doesn?’t exclude change, just change for the worse. Change is good. Or is it? The most important question facing our area is the city/county merger. All of us have many concerns about this issue. How will the merger impact our area? Will we lose some government representation and services? There is a Lexington Road area resident who is on the task force set up by Mayor Armstrong to take a close look at all of these areas. This task force will report back to elected officials and those who will be running for the new positions. We will stay in contact with this group and pass along solid information when it becomes available.
The Lexington Road Preservation Area is working on another change that will positively impact our area. We are exploring the creation of a web site which will be hosted by the city. This site will be a clearinghouse for information on our area neighborhood associations and their activities. Our association is in the primary stages of this effort but the ability to access a schedule of events, meetings and our newsletter on line is
WONDERFUL! We could all be connected as a neighborhood 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
If you would be interested and have the time to work on this specific project, please call me at 895-6140. You do not need a great deal of computer knowledge to be able to work on this site. The training will begin at the end of June and continue from there.
Enjoy the summer!
