Community Letter

We had a wonderful turnout for our Annual Meeting last month.
Three new members were elected to our Board. This new Board met on 11 January and elected the following officers for 2006:

The next Board meeting is at 7 PM on 9 May at 6601 Arbor Grande Way. All residents are welcome.

Numerous questions arise in our community concerning speeding along Arbor Grande Way. The contact at the City of Raleigh for this matter is Kathy Beard. We have met with her concerning this problem. Her email is Kathryn.beard@ci.raleigh.nc.us. The city refers to this problem as ?“traffic calming?” and Kathy is an important contact to help us with this ?“calming?” problem. Do not hesitate to send her examples of the problem.

Other items that consistently come up when residents discuss ?“problems?” are trash items (including yard trash) being placed at the curb prior to the evening before scheduled pick up. Kindly help all of us enhance our community by refraining from placing any trash at the curb until the evening before the scheduled collection. Trees that need trimming to avoid overhang on the street, blocking street signs and interfering with residents walking on the sidewalks continue to be items needing attention by some residents. Please-now that we are in the winter season- trim your trees as winter provides a safe opportunity for this task.

We are replacing three crepe myrtles at our main entrance due to damage and having one large tree stump removed from this area. We are all very proud of the main entrance area and are striving to properly maintain this entrance.
