August 10th Neighborhood Meeting

LYNX LYNE

Laura Turner, Senior Planner, and spokesperson for "Lynx Lyne" gave an informative presentation on the newest element of Central Florida's transportation system. The starter line of the rail system will link the downtown Orlando area and the International Drive resorts location. The Lynx Lyne will complement the I-4 expansion program and the existing Lynx bus system.

Features of Lynx Lyne:
* 14.7 miles long
* opening Spring 2003
* each car is 90' long
* train is capable of maintaining 55 MPH
* trains will run every 5 minutes
* trains use overhead power and are quieter than buses and clean from an environmental perspective

THE OLD PRINT SHOP ON PALMER ST.

Craig Ustler and Michael Halpin outlined their plans to convert the existing building at 819 Palmer Street to a one-story, two unit condominium.

THE MNMG PROGRAM

A vote must be taken at the September meeting to identify a project for the Mayor's Neighborhood Matching Grant program.

One of the ideas proposed is entryway signage to identify the Lake Davis Neighborhood.

A flyer will be distributed prior to the meeting to outline possible projects. Look for this information in the next few weeks!!
