CRIME REPORT; 07-27-10
Good morning!!!! On Monday, at about 7:05 A.M., Officer Martinez responded to a vehicle burglary call in the 4400 block of Ridgemont. The victim stated an unknown suspect had forced entry into the victim's vehicle and had taken cash and various electronic items. A report was worked for Burglary of a Motor Vehicle. Overnight, other calls were received where suspects cut the convertible tops on vehicle roofs and took various property. One way to reduce the opportunity for crime is to have adequate exterior lighting. Make sure there are no areas where a suspect could commit a crime without being observed by someone. If you have crime prevention questions, contact the Crime Prevention Unit at 676-6522. At about 9:57 P.M., Officer Woods responded to a disturbance call in the 500 block of East North 7th. As Officer Woods arrived on scene, one of the involved parties took off running. The 21 year old black male was told to stop but he kept running. During the foot pursuit, the subject threw an object onto the ground. The object contained approximately 1.6 grams of cocaine. The subject was caught and charged with state jail felony Evading Arrest, and second degree felony Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance.
