CRIME REPORT; 07-30-10
Good morning!
It has been a busy 24 hours for officers of the Abilene Police Department, and here is a sampling of the activity…
At about 12:30pm Thursday afternoon, Officer Carye Adkins made a routine traffic stop in the 500 block of N. 8th. The driver of the car, a black female 25 years of age was found to have a warrant for Driving While License Invalid. An inventory of the vehicle revealed a quantity of cocaine. This person was arrested and charged with both the warrant, and Possession of Cocaine.
At about 3:00pm, a man that detectives were seeking for questioning was contacted in the 1400 block of Butternut. The man had a warrant for Parole Violation. During this investigation, evidence was found that indicated that the man had attempted to stab his wife earlier in the day. The man, a Hispanic male 23 was arrested by Detective Cowan on the warrant, and he was also charged with Aggravated Assault/Family Violence.
Finally, Officer Hall stopped a car in the 1100 block of Mesquite St. on a routine traffic stop at about 10:40pm last night. During the course of this stop, Officer Hall found a white rock that appeared to be Cocaine. Preliminary testing confirmed that this substance was Cocaine. The driver of the car, a 52 year old black male was arrested for Possession of Cocaine.
