Good morning!!!!! The last twenty four hours have been busy for the police department. Here are a few examples. Officer Migliore responded to a suspicious subject call in the 4200 block of Ridgemont. Officer Migliore contacted a 32 year old male who had been inhaling computer cleaner. The subject was still in possession of the chemicals and was arrested for Possession of Volatile Inhalant Chemicals. Agents of the Special Operations Division contacted a known 18 year old male who was wanted on several outstanding warrants, including Aggravated Assault and Burglary, in the 3300 block of Catclaw. As the agents approached the subject's vehicle, he fled the scene in the vehicle. The subject was later contacted and arrested for the outstanding warrants and for third degree felony Evading Arrest. Finally, Officer Joeris stopped a vehicle at South 1st and Sayles. The driver, a 19 year old male, was intoxicated and was arrested for third degree felony Driving While Intoxicated. He had two prior convictions for DWI. The subject was also in possession of powder cocaine and was charged with that offense as well. This incident is the 443rd DWI in Abilene since January 1st.
