CRIME REPORT; 10-04-10

    Good morning!!!!  Here are a couple of examples of incidents over the weekend.   Officer Adkins responded to a disturbance in progress call in the 2900 block of South 14th.  Officer Adkins contacted a 21 year old male who was attempting to use a fake $100 bill.  The subject was arrested for third degree felony Forgery.   Officer Collins stopped a vehicle in the 4800 block of North 10th.  The driver, a 20 year old female, initially gave a fake name.  Her true identity was located and the subject was arrested for Failure To Identify.   October is National Crime Prevention Month and tomorrow night is National Night Out.  We will kick off the events at HEB at 6:00 P.M. and finish up at Target at approximately 8:15 P.M.  Come by and find out how you can make it harder for anyone to target you or your neighborhood for crime.   For the Abilene Police Department, this is Sgt Keith Shackleford.

CRIME REPORT; 10-05-10

      Good morning!!!!!  Here are a couple of examples from overnight incidents.   Lt Tauer stopped a vehicle in the 2700 block of East Lake Road.  The vehicle failed to yield the right of way and almost caused an accident.  The driver, a 25 year old male, was arrested for Driving While License Invalid, Failure To Maintain Financial Responsibility, and for Violation of the Child Restraint Law.   Officer Shriver responded to a disturbance call in the 2000 block of South Clack.  The victim stated her boyfriend, a 23 year old male, had punched her in the face during an argument.  A report was worked for Assault/Family Violence and the investigation continues.   October is National Crime Prevention Month and tonight is National Night Out.  We will kick off the events at HEB at 6:00 P.M. and finish up at Target at approximately 8:15 P.M.  Come by and find out how you can make it harder for anyone to target you or your neighborhood for crime.   For the Abilene Police Department, this is Sgt Keith Shackleford.  

CRIME REPORT; 10-06-10

    Good morning!!!  Here are a few examples of overnight incidents.   Officers of the street crimes unit responded to a suspicious subject call in the 1900 block of South 1st.  A 26 year old male was at the location, trying to sell stolen items.  When the officers contacted the man, he gave a wrong name.  The subject's true identity was located and he was arrested for Failure To Identify.   Officer Hall stopped a vehicle in the 3100 block of South 27th.  During the traffic stop, a police K-9 alerted on the vehicle.  During the subsequent investigation, a 36 year old male was found to be in possession of cocaine and was arrested.   For the Abilene Police Department, this is Sgt Keith Shackleford.  

CRIME REPORT; 10-07-10

    Good morning!!!!  Here are a few examples of overnight incidents.   Officer Thomas contacted a 26 year old male in the 1700 block of North 6th in reference to some stolen property.  During the investigation, the male was found to have an oustanding felony theft warrant and was arrested.   Officer Guitar responded to a vehicle accident in the 4300 block of Buffalo Gap.  Officer Guitar contacted one of the drivers, who was a 57 year old female.  The subject was intoxicated and was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated (with an accident).   Finally, Officer Valdez stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of North San Jose.  The driver, a 27 year old female, was intoxicated and was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.  She provided a breath sample that was almost double the legal limit.  This incident is the 503rd DWI in Abilene since January 1st.   For the Abilene Police Department, this is Sgt Keith Shackleford.
