CRIME REPORT; 10-25-2010

 

Good Morning! Here are is your police report for Monday 10/25/2010

 

At about 8:09am on Saturday, Officer Perkins responded to a call at a convenience store in the 300 block of N Judge Ely Blvd. The clerk advised that two (2) counterfeit twenty dollar bills had been received Friday night. A report was taken for Forgery.

 

On Sunday, Officer Craft was dispatched to a Burglary of a Habitation in the 1200 block of Green St. at about 9:36am. A resident caught two males in the act of burglarizing his house. The males ran when confronted by the victim. This was the second burglary on consecutive days at this same location. Later that morning, Officer Montgomery spotted two males that matched the description given by the victim. These males were contacted  and investigation confirmed their involvement in the burglary. These males, ages 13 and 17 were arrested and charged with Burglary of a Habitation.

 

Finally, yesterday at about 3:30pm Officer Kirby was dispatched to a burglary call in the 800 block of Sycamore. A 28 year old Abilene man reported that while he was out of town, someone entered his residence by means of an unlocked window. The only item missing was a laptop computer valued at $1200.00. A report was taken for Burglary of a Habitation.

CRIME REPORT; 10-26-2010

 

 

Good Morning! Here are a few examples of calls handled in the past 24 hours  

 

At about 12:30 pm yesterday, Officer McGrew was dispatched to the Mall of Abilene to a shoplifting call. Loss prevention personnel observed someone removing tags from several jewelry items, and put the items into a purse. The suspect walked out of a store without paying for about $435.00 worth of merchandise. A 27 year old female was arrested and charged with Theft.

 

At about 1:03pm, Officer Long was dispatched to a disturbance under the underpass at Buffalo Gap Rd and Clack regarding a man who was reported to be yelling profanities and lunging at cars as they drove by. Officer Long contacted the 51 year old man who was arrested and charged with Solicitation by a Pedestrian.

 

Finally, at about 10:55pm last night, Officers Allen and Scott were dispatched to a disturbance call at an apartment in the 600 block of Westwood. The information indicated that two females had been involved in an ongoing issue with each other, and had been breaching the peace by yelling and throwing things in the apartment. The situation continued in the presence of officers, disturbing other residents, so both women, ages 32 and 23 were arrested for Violation of Noise Ordinance

CRIME REPORT; 10-27-2010

   

Good Morning! Here is your police report for Wednesday 10/27/2010  

 

At about 3:30 yesterday afternoon, Special Operations Division agents executed a search warrant in the 3000 block of N. 10th.  A quantity of marijuana was found, as well as some counterfeit currency. Two men, ages 18 and 20 were arrested and charged with Felony Possession of Marijuana and Forgery.

 

At about 4:45pm, Officer Herd was dispatched to a store in the Mall of Abilene regarding a theft. A store employee had observed a 20 year old male leave a store with a pair of sunglasses valued at $165.00 without paying for them. The man was detained and brought back to the store and the property was recovered. Then the man shoved the employee and left the store, elevating this case from a simple misdemeanor theft to felony robbery. Investigation is continuing.

 

Finally, at about 3:00 this morning, Officer Valdez conducted a traffic stop in the 600 block of N. 11th St. The driver, a 19 year old male was found to have traffic warrants with a total dollar amount of over $3,100.00. The man was arrested and booked into the Taylor County Jail on these warrants.

CRIME REPORT; 10-28-2010

Good Morning! Officers have made several arrests over the past 24 hours, and here are a few examples:

 

At about 10:15 yesterday morning, Officers Montgomery and Long went to a hotel in the 5200 block of S. 1st St. after receiving information that a person with felony warrants was staying there. The wanted person, a 19 year old male, was arrested on a warrant for Probation Violation (original charge Forgery), and the man was also found to have almost $3,000 in unpaid traffic tickets and he was charged with those also.

                         

At about 7:00pm, Officer Adkins contacted a woman at a residence in the 2900 block of S. 2nd St. regarding a misdemeanor warrant. Upon contact, the woman ran into the house and out the back door. She was caught by officers and found to have a marijuana pipe. This 37 year old female was arrested on the original warrant, but she was also charged with Evading Arrest and Possession of Marijuana

 

At about 9:20pm, Officer Romero stopped a vehicle in the 1000 block of N. 13th St for a traffic violation. It was discovered that a passenger in the vehicle had an outstanding warrant for Possession of Marijuana in a Drug Free Zone. The passenger, a 35 year old male was arrested on the warrant. Further investigation revealed that the man had a quantity of marijuana on his person, so he was also charged with Class “B” Possession of Marijuana
