CRIME REPORT; 8-15-11

 

 

Good Morning! Here are some examples of calls answered in the past 24hrs…

 

Yesterday at 5:18 Officer Anthony Joeris  received a call of an armed man in the 1400 blk of S Willis.  The call stated that a man had dropped a handgun and picked it up and was walking down S Willis.  Officer Joeris contacted this man and he was in possession of a handgun.  He was placed under arrest for Unlawful Carrying a Weapon. 

 

At about 6:45 Officer Robert Brannon responded to a disturbance call.  A male subject had committed theft at the Mall of Abilene.  The man fled from the store on foot and ran over a 4 year old girl who suffered a minor injury.  This man was contacted later in the 1400 blk of Mesquite and placed under arrest for Robbery.  He was also charged with Fail to identify and also had outstanding warrants for Possession of a controlled substance and Fail to Identify. 

 

And finally Officer Jake Weise stopped a car in the 200 blk of S Leggett for a traffic offense.  The driver appeared intoxicated and failed the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests.  She was placed under arrest for DWI  and provided a breath sample.  The results were 0.244 and 0.237.  She was charged with DWI.

CRIME REPORT; 8-16-11

 

 

Good Morning! Here are some examples of calls answered in the past 24hrs…

 

Yesterday at about 7:25 PM Officer Mary Guitar was dispatched to a theft call at a north side business.  Loss prevention had detained this female subject for leaving the store without paying for $56.00 in merchandise.  This female was placed under arrest and charged with Theft.  Because she had three prior convictions this enhanced to a Felony Theft. 

 

At about 9:50 PM Sgt Jason Haak stopped a vehicle for reckless driving in the 100 blk of Victoria.  When Sgt Haak approached the male driver he could smell the odor of marijuana.  He attempted to talk to the driver who couldn’t talk because he was attempting to eat a bag of marijuana.  The driver was placed under arrest for Possession of Marijuana and also Tampering with evidence.  This driver also had a small amount of cocaine on his person and was also charged with Possession of Cocaine.  The passenger of this vehicle surrendered a bag of marijuana to Sgt Haak and he was arrested for Possession of marijuana.  This male subject also had a warrant for Possession of marijuana. 

 

And finally at 10:05 PM Officer Mary Guitar was dispatched to a disturbance call in the 200 blk of Chapel Hill.  While on scene officer Guitar was talking to a family when a female became hysterical and out of control and attacked her mother and sister punching them both in the face before she could be restrained.  This female was arrested for assault Family Violence.

Good Morning! Here are some examples of calls answered in the past 24hrs…

 

Last night at 8:20 PM Officer Kimberly Scalf stopped a vehicle in the 2400 blk of S Willis for expired registration.  Officer Scalf smelled marijuana and located several bags of marijuana in a subsequent search of the vehicle.  This male driver was arrested for Possession of marijuana.

 

At 11:24 PM Sgt Jason Haak stopped a vehicle in the 2400 blk of Mimosa due to a warrant hit.  The driver bolted and ran from the traffic stop.  He was caught after a foot chase and charged with Evading Arrest as well as warrants for Possession of Cocaine, Unauthorized Absence from Correctional Facility, Failure to Appear, and Fail to Identify. 

 

And finally Officer Brian Poyner stopped a vehicle in the 1200 blk of N Treadaway for a traffic offense.  This female driver appeared intoxicated and failed the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests.  She was placed under arrest and she provided a breath sample with the results 0.097 and 0.099.  The legal limit is 0.08.

CRIME REPORT; 8-18-11

 

 

Good Morning! Here are some examples of calls answered in the past 24hrs…

 

Yesterday at 1200 PM Officer Jeff Hartmankok was dispatched to Dyess Air Force Base for a theft call.  Loss prevention at a business there had detained a person for stealing a watch.  This male subject was turned over to Officer Harmankok and he was charged with Theft. 

 

Yesterday afternoon Officer Jake Weise stopped a vehicle in the 4300 blk of Capitol for a traffic offense.  Officer Weise  contacted the male driver who smelled strongly of an alcoholic beverage.  The driver attempted to run from officer Weise who managed to grab him.  This male subject attempted to fight with Officer Weise but was taken into custody.  This man was transported to Taylor County Jail and administered the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests which he failed.  He was charged with DWI.  He refused to provide a breath sample.  He was also charged with Resisting Arrest, Driving With License Invalid, and Driving Without Valid License Plates.
