Good Evening ROLOH Neighbors!
Please see the below announcements and first let me thank everyone that Volunteered the last couple of weekends at 2212 and 2210 Collier Ave! If you get a chance please drive by as the painting project at 2210 Collier came out awesome and the homeowner our neighbor was literally jumping for joy :-) if you can't please visit www.volunteerlakeworth.blogspot.com to see the pic's.
A special thank you to our PBSO Team for being there Deputy Mike and Deputy xlldkeikaei (I just don't even know how to spell his name but will get with the department to get it, but he is from Brazil and a very hard working volunteer just like all of D14). Thank you to DCI Construction that did a tremendous amount of work and drove up all the way from Margate to help with our projects. Thanks to Commissioner Scott Maxwell that came by both weeks and even got us Pizza for lunch and let me tell you we really needed it! Thank You to Joanna with the Paint Your Heart Out and Rebuilding Together of the Palm Beachs and Ruth from OCR (Office of Community Revitalization) for your very hard work and dedication to our neighborhood and to our neighbors all over Palm Beach County! We also thank our sister neighborhoods Tropical Ridge, College Park, Genesis for your hard work and the City of Lake Worth for picking up our piles with no complaints, The members of Lake Osborne Presbyterian Church including Omar and Dorthy and many others, and of course Sandi Debose for all that you do to help others. :-)
Here are various announcements below:
Train Horns by Lynn Anderson:
below are the numbers to call should your constituents also wish to call directly.
They should call Katie or Cliff Stayton of CX Transportation at 904-359-1750. The
main exchange number of the CX corporation is 800-848-4542, press 7 then 4.
I am sure the issue will be completely resolved in time, but the City has done
everything we can at this stage. I am looking for a sooner rather than later
resolution and will continue to communicate with them on an ongoing basis

The Office of Commissioner Scott Maxwell
Will be holding a District 1 Community Meeting on August 31, 2010 from 6pm to 9pm at the Norman J. Wimbley Municipal Gymnasium located at 1515 Wingfield Street, Lake Worth, Florida 33460 for any information please feel free to call (561) 586-1730 thank you.
See attached agenda and ROLOH is part of District 1 so this is a good opportunity for our neighbors to voice our concerns and needs for our part of Lake Worth. District 1 has a large lower to middle income working class group and a large base of senior citizens. The whole district has many issues and concerns to be addressed. Please come out and be a part of this event regardless if its the Lake Osborne area, ROLOH, Genesis, Hope, Murray Hills, etc...we are the second largest land mass district in our city and need to participate to help our whole district to move forward.

Volunteers are still needed
For 2212 Collier! We are now working on the inside and we need as much help as anyone is willing to give....1 hour to 6 hour from Sweat Equity to help clean out the home to people with plumbing, electrical, handyman and any other skill level you can think of. We want to get this homeowner back into her home and to be able have her independence back. This is a wonderful project that has the support of so many Lake Worth and Palm Beach County agencies and the Launch of Neighbors Helping Neighbors Project to take on the toughest job of helping our neighbors in need and the issue of Hoarding! There are many cases in our city and county and Neighbors Helping Neighbors Project and partners want and need your assistance in addressing this issue City and County Wide.

Its a cliche however
"Ask not what your city can do for you but what your can do for you city" We know that our great City of Lake Worth is in a financial down turn like most municipalities across the country. Mayor Varela has asked and proposed a volunteer base to help with the cities activities and help keep the city moving forward. So please consider your role in the city today and call your commissioners and mayor to let them know you want to help in any way you can. Lets Volunteer "Lake Worth Neighbors" to continue projecting our city on a great path! Let the Commission and Mayor and City Manager know if you have the ability to volunteer your time.
Thank You,
--
