Hello all,
Just a reminder March is Archaeology Month. To this end, I was asked to give two talks (11am and 3pm) this Saturday March 26th at the first annual Archaeology Festival at the South Florida Science Museum. You can find information online athttp://www.sfsm.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=events.details&content_id=95.
The majority of events are geared towards young families. I think there will be a drum circle, there will be a Native American story teller, a Hernando Escalante Fontaneda re-enactor (a Spanish sailor who was captured by the Calusa in the 1700s), a chance for kids to use the tools that an archaeologist uses and multiple professional archaeologists giving lectures (geared more to adults and older children).
This event is not free so you will need to go online and check the price of admission. Please contact the South Florida Science Museum if you have further questions.
Hope to see you there,
Chris
