The meeting was called to order at 6:37pm by Suzy Glover. Jake DeBusk led the opening prayer.
Kay Ferrell read the minutes of the last meeting. They were accepted without correction.
Cindy Nocton presented the treasurer’s report. At that time the balance was $1,385.77
Khris Kenyon deferred her report to general discussion at a later point in the agenda.
Jake deBusk feels that patrolling is being very successful and that the people who are currently patrolling are doing a great job. He would like to see more people helping.
Grace Morrow reported that 2 of our Senior Watchers had been in the hospital - one of them in critical condition. She also reported that the barking dog situation seemed to be under control.
Dave Williams introduced the new C.O.P.P. officer, Larry Nunley. They addressed some patrolling issues such as how to help the police in various situations and how to avoid putting ourselves in precarious positions.
Business discussions included dates and times of the C.E.R.T. Training, Easter Basket ticket sales and the drawing for the basket - - John LaFavor’s name was drawn by Officer Nunley.
Plans for the Neighborhood Picnic are moving along. The menu had been finalized and donations were being sought. Kay had secured the Moonwalk. Michelle had set up the petting zoo. Suzy had made arrangements with Memorial Hospital for the health fair. Dave Williams was setting up the bicycle team and the K-9 unit. Gary is again securing prizes.
Keep Our Cops Rally was the next item discussed. We will get together to make more signs. Kay will call the other Neighborhood Watch groups to ask for their support. Speakers will hopefully be Chief Thorne and Mayor Purcell.
The next meetings were announced.
April 19th was the General Meeting – Fire Department is scheduled to attend.
May 3rd is the next Block Captains Meeting.
