Hello PTA members!
I know that you are excited about the New Year. PTA at Leonora P. Miles has made great
strides. I would like to thank each of you who have stuck with us during our stay at Perry
Boulevard Location. Now we are home and home to stay. The community has reached out to us
and we are reaching back. Parents and teachers are asked to volunteer. Parents enter the school
building and sign-in as volunteers, it only takes 10, 15, or perhaps 20 minuets a day, per week.
A teacher volunteering is as an unpaid servant. Parents leave there jobs, to volunteer at the
school and teachers must take time to stay at their job beyond the hours required or go sign up to
chair a PTA committee. I as your PTA President I cannot stress the importance of Leonora P.
Miles PTA presenting a ?“United Front?”. Teachers, let me say our teachers have been putting in
extra hours after classes have long ended or PTA chairpersons are mostly teachers. Parents let
me be able to say, parents are ever present during school hours and after school hours. What to
do during your stay, there is plenty, show-up and sign-up someone will give you your
assignment for the day. Sign up at the Parent Center and Main Office. There is no need planning
a program when there is no one to work the program. We do not want to over work a few good
parents and teachers trying to hold things together. No more. We will work only those events
that those who volunteer choose to work. If your children are not during extra activities perhaps
it is because the volunteers did not show up or sign up.
There are many reasons to appreciate a group are individuals and we should, but let us not
strive to be appreciated but strive to meet our PTA goals.
If we do not meet this mission and follow through on these purposes, we have failed
our children. And those ?“Watching Our Steps?” can see that we are Not ?“Miles Ahead
of The Rest.?” For those of you who have been volunteering, thank you! We want
you to know that your efforts are appreciated and still needed. Thank You !
See you at the school volunteering soon.
