2004 Highlights

December 2004 - December 11th, the Class of 1973, Missouri National Guard and l07.3 radio station launched a toy drive in the Raytown Wal-Mart parking lot. We kicked off the drive by purchasing several bags of toys. We had great weather and a huge turnout from the public. Several classmates stop by as well. The Kansas City Lincoln local chapter turned out and delivered several bags of toys. At the end of the day, we had a truckload of toys that was donated to The Childrens Connections. It was such a success, we intend to make this an annual event.


Class of 1973 joined the Local Lincoln Alumni Association in October 2004. We are working with the local to help raise money for scholarships. Our goal is to provide a minimum of $1,000.00 annually to a recipient,to be the largest (class)contributing annually. A breakfast banquet is held annually by the chapter and scholarships are awarded at that time. The local chapter meets on the 2nd Saturday each month at Palestine Church at 4:00 pm. We encourage the our class members and any Lincoln graduates to come out and support the local chapter.

October 2004 - We hosted our 2nd annual Chili Scholarship Fundraising dinner. The location for this year was the Mutual Musicians Foundation located at 18th and Highland in the historic Vine Jazz District. We had a lot of fun cooking and selling meals.

August 2004 - The officers and board memebers hosted a picnic in the Blue Valley Park. Our shelter house provided a lovely view to downtown and eastern Kansas City. We enjoyed the company of classmates graduating from 1970 to 1987. The picnic was a success with plenty of food, dancing and games for everyone.........

July 2004 - We gave a scholarship fundraising party at the Zodiac Motorcycle club at 18th and Vine. Its was a great turnout with nice weather. We sold food, setup for drinks, and partied until they put us out the place. With your continued support we hope to make this an annual event.
