Lincoln Park

Board of Directors

Posted in: Lincoln Park

To whom it may concern:

I understand we are having an annual meeting in March, as a concerned and dues paying owner of Lincoln park, I urge all homeowners to attend this meeting. We need to get enough people to attend, so that maybe we can elect a new board, especially a new president. I have been a homeowner for 7years and the same man has been President, I have attended all the neighborhood functions, picnics, halloween, national night out, etc., and have never seen the President at any of these functions. It is always the other  board members that are present. Kudos to them. I feel that Mr. Garcia has been a lame duck president for the past years. However to hear him speak at the meetings he is the only one that does anything. He told us at the September meeting the the plants were going to be replaced the very next day. Well where are they. If any of you notice, at the meetings when a he is asked a question, he always has to turn to Mr Mathis for the answer. I dont know about the rest of you, but I think it is time that we take our neighborhood back and put it in the hands of a concerned board, especially one that has a good leader. Again I urge all of the Lincoln park homeowners to attend the annual meeting in March, and take a stand to better our neighborhood.

I would rather see one of the two active board members move up in the HOA as the president and vice president. They are Catherine and Donna. These two members are always there when needed and take a active role in our HOA. In the past when there is an activity, both Cathy and Donna along with a few others are present to make sure the days events run smoothly. As for the present President and his Vice, they seem that this neighborhoods activities are not important enough to be apart of and make it a point not to show up. Maybe we should ask Cathy and Donna to Co-Chair the position of the President for the Abe Lincoln Association. Then we could elect three new members to the Board of Directors and try to bring back the integrity that our HOA once had.

A Board should act as one, instead of One acting as the Board. This has been what has been done lately,  the One acting as the Board. I've heard that the BOD has voted on issues unanimously and in unity, only to have a decision later turned around by the President of the association. Once you cast your vote and it has been recorded, it cannot be changed, nor can a member of the BOD completely change the vote of the whole board.

I agree with WW that our neighborhood needs to change the wind in its sails, by showing up in numbers at the next Annual HOA meeting and to Nominate a New Board of Directors to act in the best interest of the homeowners of the Lincoln Park Subdivision.
