Date: Saturday, August 2, 2008
Place: McMechan Park (NE 16th between the 800 and 900 blocks)
What: Neighborhood wide block party to celebrate the 25th anniversary of National Night Out
On Saturday evening, August 2nd, Lincoln Terrace will join with three other neighborhood associations -- Medical Community, Classen North Highland Parked, and Culbertson, to jointly celebrate National Night Out, an annual event for neighborhoods nationwide.
National Night Out is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for and participation in local anticrime programs, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
The event will be held at McMechan Park, beginning at 7:00 p.m. Food will be provided, as well as entertainment -- from a 16 ft. inflatable slide to a moonwalk, music, games, prize drawings and more. There will also be information tables about various programs available.
Come see and be seen. Participate in the fun, and make a stand for safe, secure neighborhoods.
