Linda Visa Neighborhood Committee Meetings were held at the Phelps residence on June 17 and July 14. Attendees in June included representatives from various City of Mesa organizations who provided information on resources available to us that can help us create a nicer, safer, and more cohesive neighborhood. A key issue at both meetings was steps that can be taken to achieve the goal of Zero Tolerance for criminal activity, including drug trafficking and burglary. Residents were identified to hold committee offices and also outlined some first steps to take to help ourselves and our neighbors become acquainted with each other and become more aware of activity in the neighborhood. The committee will be publishing a telephone list for people who have volunteered to be contacts in each neighborhood. This committee intends to hold monthly meetings, to be held from 7-8pm on the third Tuesday of each month. All people (adults) from this neighborhood are encouraged to attend to discuss neighborhood problems, concerns and ideas regarding safety, city ordinance violations, crime, or other issues of interest.
